Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria)

The extract obtained from the flowers of Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria), more commonly known as German chamomile, contains all the water-soluble active ingredients present in the flowers, i.e. essential oil (rich in alpha-bisabolol, flavones, chamazulene and coumarins), flavonoids, polysaccharides, mucilage and sesquiterpene lactones, which give the plant and the preparation numerous beneficial properties in the treatment of the skin.

More specifically, chamomile is known for its calming, soothing, decongestant, healing, and anti-inflammatory properties, which make it a perfect cosmetic ingredient to be included in water-based preparations such as gels, serums, make-up removers, creams and masks with soothing action.

Hamamelis Virginiana

Witch hazel extract is a preparation obtained from the steam distillation of the leaves of Hamamelis Virginiana, a plant native to North America and traditionally used in the treatment of circulatory disorders due to its astringent and vasoconstrictive properties.

Renamed by American colonists as Witch Hazel (a term still used today by Americans and English), witch hazel concentrates most of its active ingredients within the bark and leaves, which represent the parts of shrub most used in phytotherapy.

In particular, the leaves of witch hazel have a high concentration of tannins, flavonoids, gallic acid and mucilage, which give the plant important astringent, soothing and decongestant properties.

Calendula Officinalis

Calendula extract is a preparation obtained from the flowers of Calendula Officinalis, an ornamental plant well known in the phytotherapeutic field for its soothing and emollient properties.
